What is the right spark plug?

Hi Jim,
For plugs, the NGK BP6ES or Champ. N9YC should work. It seems that everyone has their own favorite.

As far as plug gap, try .030 to .035". The hotter coil will probably fire plug gaps larger than this but the wider the gap the higher voltage requirement & there are limits to the distributor cap & rotor voltage insulation capabilities. Too wide gaps may result in internal arcing in the cap during wet or humid conditions.

Thanks Dave, I'll pick up a set tonite and gap them at .033 to start.

That's a great looking car you have Dave.

the Champions seem to work best for some reason and I'd start at .035. you might be able to get .040

Yeah, the Champion N9Y works best with the stock arrangement too. I have tried several others but end up coming back to the Champion.

Hi everyone.

I installed the Pertronic Ignitor, 40K coil and Magnacor wires---what plugs (and gap) should I use with this set-up? The 67B is otherwise stock. Any advise will be appreciated.
