DrEntropy said:Speakin' of grits... a local place has a dish with shrimp, garlic and grits in a cream based sauce to die for. Ambrosia, I tell ya!
JPSmit said:Been waiting for this type of reply - no one likes grits. Everyone likes what you need to add to grits to make it palatable.

Anyway, to repay me for helping him, he and his wife invited us to dinner. Most everything was great (I had warned him ahead of time of my aversion to sea food). But then, after dinner, he broke out the special treat: a 1000 Year Old Egg, or so it is called. To be polite I took a piece. To this day, if I think too long about it I throw up a little in my mouth.

Would smell and taste like a fresh pile of dog sh*t someone stepped in and dragged it into the house. BAD BAD Stuff!

Every so often, on my drive in on I-40 to work, I see an older Chevy Blazer with a bumber sticker that reads: "Cat - The other white meat."

Now the Thai folk on the third hand... I'd go back there in an eyeblink! Just to EAT my way across the country. Night and day difference and they revere cats, they don't eat them. Dogs, well, not so much.![]()
