What foods do you abhor, and why.............

A good quality fish fillet.. yea. But, much like your "Joint matter" issue, I can't do seafood that strongly resembles what it did when alive, usually a very short time ago. Crustaceans are out., those immaculately prepared red snappers that look as if they're still swimming at you......no way!
In some ways I'm an outdoorsman, in others I'm a sissy city kid. I love venison, but never hunted because I can't do the whole gutting bit.
I agree Kellysguy, Canned tuna is cat-food. My daughter calls it "Squishy-Fishy"

Shrimp, Lobster, or anything remotely similar.

I'm with ya Bas... <span style="font-style: italic">"if it swims I don't eat it"</span>

You guys would die in South Louisiana.....

You might be right Bill but you might wither away in Manhattan without creole seasoning

don't like sprouts(got a worm in one once)(i know better than half a worm) beef tongue, heart, pumpkin pie, grits (the last 2 it's a texture thing). I am a firm believer that leafy greens(lettuce, kale etc) is what real food eats. :yesnod: However I do eat HAGGIS

Minnies' Pie,
in the Movie

"the Help"

I will never look at pie the same again

I'm in the NO FISH camp; I have eaten fish to be polite, I've eaten it when there was no real choice...But I hate it, and I NEVER want to eat it. Cilantro makes my teeth itch. For serious. That's the only way I can describe that evil herb...
Shrimp wrapped in bacon and grilled, made by the best chef I've ever known is my only fond memory of seafood. All the others:

And yes I am a Yankee, and I have eaten Summer Sausage and enjoyed it...Truth be told, I've never met a cased meat I didn't like. :yesnod:

Try real fish sometime, like Tuna (fresh) or wahoo. It doesn't have that fishy taste (at all). Cooked on a BBQ, wahoo has a texture and flavor just like chicken. ( I'm not kidding) and is fabulous as shushi still floppin' on the deck. If you are forced to eat fish, stay away from the fat strip down the middle of the filet. It's the darker looking part. That's where "fishy" lives.

Bill, try summer sausage with a good mustard on a cracker. yeah, I know, not as good as the stuff down here. If the governement issued sausage, that would be it.

Seems only two types of folks, those who love cilantro and those who hate it.

Let's get him some red boudin, Bill... :jester:

I'm an unabashed OMNIVORE! Some things could be at the bottom of the list, but the "abhor" list is likely short and wouldn't have what most consider actual "food" on it. Live earthworms, mebbe. And UNroasted insects.

Reading over all the stuff you guys won't eat has made me hungry!!

Same here! Funny thing is that when I was a kid, I was REAL finicky about food. Didn't even like ketchup or mustard!

Speaking of unroasted insects, the chapulines in Oaxaca are tasty!

YUMM!

Yeah, bro, it all needs perspective. I didn't like chili as a kid, or rice. Turns out mom didn't know what <span style="font-style: italic">real</span> chili was, or how to <span style="font-style: italic">properly</span> cook rice.

Liver'n onions?!? One of the local eateries had an "All-you-can-eat" liver and onion special on Thursdays.
Even as inexpensive as those ingredients are, they lost money on me.

Try 'em with grits instead of potatoes or rice. Nice complement.

Speakin' of grits... a local place has a dish with shrimp, garlic and grits in a cream based sauce to die for. Ambrosia, I tell ya!

Beats the heck outta pablum!

My daughter ate Mopane Worms (cooked of course  ) when we were in Africa many years ago. I couldn't stand to watch it!
I was going to post a photo of a Mopane Worm but I didn't want a rash of computers to be ruined
