What Are You Listening To?

I first saw Melanie on David Frost for several consecutive days. I was in a folk singer songwriter favoring phase and liked he a lot. There was an album in the early 70s called '4 sides of Melanie'. She was still on the coffee house circuit in the early 00s, playing a room in Homestead, Fl. for a while.

You tube was serving up some good stuff tonight.

Will there ever be another showman like Freddie. He held that crowd in the palm of his hand.

Minnie Riperton. Rotary Connection.

...and this runnin' in background now.

On a much sadder note, was watching TV tonight and a diaper commercial came on - Background music was Born to be Wild.  :rolleyes2:

Some time around '67 my dad and I had a chance to buy TWO V-12 Lincolns (the original engine in the Charlie Ryan version of the song). Real cheap, but we bought a boat instead. I rebuilt one of the Volvo 4s in the boat, which boat was promptly sold for a down payment on the house across the street. Wish we'd bought the Lincolns, but the house rent stream helped my mom out for many years. To reestablish relevance to this thread, I am listening to those 12 cylinders now.
