i went to a show on Saturday - Epica opening for Sabaton. Very highly recommend both - it was a fantastic show and Sabaton is also encouraging fans to support the World War 1 memorial effort on this tour.


I had to remove the link to the Sabaton song I posted - didn't realize there were some unapproved language in the beginning. Apologies to anyone who got caught off-guard by that.

This one should be all-ages appropriate, its not a concert video footage clip but one of their official media releases.

"Back-when" as I was isolated to my bedroom, stricken with the measles (12 or 13 y.o.), my dad gave me Fleming's books to pass the time. Saw "Dr No" later, about the time "Thunderball" came out. After reading all the novels earlier I determined to never trust Hollywood to accurately depict a novel.

But "The Avengers" and Diana driving an Elan was a whole different matter. :D
 
Yep, I read some of Fleming's books, the stories aren't as big in scope as the movies. But then Hollywood wanted big blockbusters and still does inflate some stories.
 
I convinced myself when I was twelve or so that James Bond existed in two only tangentially related universes, one of the books, and one of the films. It has allowed me to enjoy both (and a few other films that have taken liberties with their source materials) over the years.
 
Last night I watched a repeat broadcast again of "Austin City Limits" The Very Best Of John Prine.
It covered the last 50 years of his career.
What a treasure we had and lost to Covid.

First time I heard this was at Epcot while visiting the Norwegian exhibit. It was playing in the gift shop. I bought a copy of the CD. Always gives me goose bumps.
There are some great Saxophone tracks on the CD.
