I was visiting my Dad near Jackson Hole Wyoming one time in late September and decided I wanted photos of my TR6 with the Tetons in the background while the sun was rising and bathing them in glorious morning sunshine. It was -10 when I left the house to head toward the Teton area. Later that day it near 70. The top was down when I left the house (put it down the day before) so I could get top down photos. I was EXTREMELY bundled up on that drive. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif And it was 25 miles each way.
I also saw my first wild Wolf in person that morning. Contrary to what Animal Planet might make some believe, seeing wolves in the wild is a very rare thing, while seeing evidence of their existence is not.
Bosch make a replacement pump (110psi) which doesn't have the overheating problems. When my Lucas dies I'll invest in a Bosch pump.
R6MGS, a good friend of mine lives in Calgary, he mentioned that temps have already fallen to -30C!!!! That's worse than living in your freezer! I can't imagine living in those extreme conditions.
Regards
Craig
Yeah....I have alot of friends in Calgary(our head office is there)....Everyone is complainin, especially the peopel that were recently moved from here...We rarely get that kinda cold here.
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I had to scrape both sides of my windshield and I couldn't fold my tonneau cover. Had to leave it at my dads house. He waved from the picture window holding a nice warm cup of coffee when I drove off. Wisely, he had turned down the offer to go with me.
You've really no idea how happy I was to see positive temperatures that morning. Or just how quickly the freeze burned off when that giant yellow orb in the sky made its appearance. It really is coldest just before dawn. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
On a winter trip up there one time when we went snowmobiling into Yellowstone. At the Old Faithful Lodge there were some tourist vans that had tracks instead of wheels and they had signs on the doors saying "DO NOT SLAM THE DOORS". I asked one of the drivers about the signs. He told me that when it gets really cold, if you slam the doors the paint comes off. I asked how cold was 'really cold'. He said, "oh, only when it gets below -40F or so, you know, REALLY cold." Its also fun to boil water on a camp stove, then throw the water up in the air. You get snow from boiling water nearly instantly. Cool physics experiment. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
Mine were in pretty good shape, no peeling or rust or dents. I had the holes closed on top of the front bumper from the over riders and I had the pieces welded in on each side of the back to close of the notches in the 74 bumpers from the over riders. I don't think that those are on the earlier or later models.
So with that work and the front license frame, the total was $1250 plus taxes. The front frame added $125 to the total.
It's a quality first shop, so the prices are high, but the work is second to none for true triple plating.
