I just can't go out there and work at this time of year at all. My garage faces due south, and with 97 degrees and over 90% humidity already in place in late June and early July, I dread to think what North Carolina in August is going to be like.
It's not as if I am not used to it, been here 16 years, but sometimes I am nostalgic for breezy English summer afternoons, blue sky with fluffy cumulus clouds, with the thermometer barely reaching 70, and if it scrapes up to 75, newspaper headlines saying "Phew, what a scorcher!", and no humidity whatsoever.
Or for those blue-sky days in the South of France with 85 degrees and 30%.
