water pump

Onward and upward...I took about 20mins to get the first three nuts off and about three hrs to get the fourth one. The water pump is finally off...YEEEAAAYYYY ME !!!!
For some reason (probably related to a guy named Murphy) the last one is always the hardest to get off.

Anti-seize is something like Copaslip (copper color) or Permatex Anti-Seize (zinc color) that keeps parts (like wire wheels and splined hubs) from corroding together. Great stuff if you ever want to take something apart again.

I changed my water pump not long ago. It was an India replacement with much thicker bosses. Ended up going with longer studs in the block for the nuts to catch enough threads. I have been using the spray copper on many gaskets. A lot of the gaskets nowadays are not even up to the specs of decent cardboard. I dont have much confidence in them to seal very well.
