Went by there on my way back to C'ville today. Didn't look too much because the weather was awful.
I now remember this place from my Triumph days back in the seventies (I was born/raised in Roanoke). Webb has been there for a long time, I'd say at least since the late sixties. It's about 300 yards south of the US 419/U.S. Rt. 11 (Williamson Rd.) intersection, on the east side of Williamson Road. BTW, Rt. 11 follows the old "Carolina Road" - a lot of history has passed down this pike!
I saw some very nice LBCs as I drooled throgh the showroom window of the tiny, cinder block building. It still has the "Triumph/Rover/MG" dealership logos signs painted on it. Here's what I saw:
> Two nice Rovers, both looked like they'd never been driven: one was a PERFECT looking 1980 3500 SDI, couldn't see the signs or prices. They were both just lovely;
> 3 MGBs, all like new (squeaky clean wheel wells, etc.): a '67 with OD & "Kent cam", price $18,500; a nice dark blue '65, and another nice chrome bumper one on the back row;
> A VERY nice red TR-8. It was on the back row so I couldn't see a price or details. It looked like it was new;
> A lovely, carmine red/tan interior (nice paint job, too) '76 Spitfire with a "6 speed" gearbox (obviously a Jtype OD). It looked perfect/stock, no price tag;
> Two very nice AH Sprites: in front, a new-looking yellow '67 for $11,900: it looked bone stock. I couldn't see the info on the other Sprite, but it looked very, very nice also;
> A shiny, clean MKII Midget (I think it was a MKII - view was blocked by other cars);
This guy has some serious LBCs, but I wouldn't expect anything but tip-top market retail prices on them (what else would we expect from a dealer???).
Too bad Webb is closed on weekends since I only go to Roanoke on weekends. I think the business name is "Webb Imported Motors", but I could be wrong. Phone number shouldn't be hard to find if anyone is interested.
Brought back some old memories for me, I didn't want to leave!
