.....Hopefully.
Saturday, accepted new job
Sunday, decided BMW needed to come out of hibernation and be back in regular service (33mpg vs 12mpg in the truck)
BMW was stone dead. jump-stared and it ran ok. thankfully I wasn't a victim of Ethanol, but the battery was frozen solid.
Monday, took the battery in to work and let it thaw. Ordered the power steering rack that was leaking profusely (the reason I parked it)
started the 12 hr shifts.
Tuesday, tried charging thawed battery. Seemed to be taking some charge, but I didn't trust it.
Wednesday, worked.....
Thursday, Stopped at lunch time and picked up a battery. put it in after work and car is alive again. noticed a bad noise in the front of the engine.
Friday, finally had a day off, but had a lot to get done. Picked up the rack at the parts store.
Saturday, went in to the shop and installed the rack, and aligned the car. diagnosed the noise as a bad water pump. Called the parts store and ordered one.
Today, went and picked up the pump and installed it in the driveway. Removed the AC compressor belt as the pulley on the compressor is loose and I can't fix it right now.
Took the car for a test drive....
OK.... I hope she's up to the task now. Time to stand by the fireplace and thaw out.

glad to hear - and congrats again with job!

Put an S52 in it. This is my buddy's E30/S52 @ Sebring with his son driving it. The kid doesn't run it near as hard as his dad but it's a fun ride none the less. The clapping sound is his unkle slapping his hands together saying "PUT IT TO THE FLOOR".

Glad to hear the Bimmer is alive! You need to stop by the shop and check us out. Picked up a TR6 today so that will be the new project.

Geez, Benny! Glad of the "no ethanol issues" but the other work is kinda a bummer.
Keep on top of that thing now and start to hunt down a 123 model Benz diesel!!! :jester:

Um, why did your driveway need a water pump?

Wouldn't it work better if it was installed in the car? :jester:

Weather must have improved in the Windy City

Hi Banjo,
All that stuff is just routine on e30's. I've doe all the same on my two, and not much else (except exhaust). Never had much luck with the ac after the loss of r12. My latest is a 325IC convert, so who needs it? (also have less than a week of hot days a year where I live).
Tom

You still hangin round the area Ksis? I thought you went south.
Well, the Bimmer is toolin along nicely now. Course with the addition of ethanol, my mileage has gone from 33 to about 28-29 mpg...
I would love to find an older MB diesel "slug". preferably a wagon... either that or keep a watch out for a MGBGT for a daily.
Weather is steadily improving, should mean the TR project will see some advancement.

I was down South for a short time to get the boy into school. I have been working with Lee Johnson out at Esprit Performance by the mall. Picked up a new project a 76 TR6. Swing on by and check us out. There until 430most days.
