Building carbs on the work bench. Is there any way I can tell if a jet needle is lean or rich? Bought them some time ago and they came unmarked. Do the needles all come unmarked now? Did they not used to come with markings at the top?

Look on the side of the shank. You may have to use a magnifying glass as the marking are sometimes very faint.

I recently bought a genuine SU rebuild kit from MM. The mark was so poorly done, to avoid bending the needle, I had to file off the burr around the ID. For it's sure I knew the size! LeT

If they really aren't marked, then the only way I know is to measure at each station, and compare the measurements to a chart or a known needle.
