TVR owners on this list?

Basil, can we have our own subsection now?

I have been in the market for a TVR for about a year. I am interested in a 2500M, 3000S, or Taimar. I have tried to buy several but have just missed out. I recently stumbled across a great TR4 that I couldn't pass on. It will be car #1 in the collection with a TVR to be #2 in the near furture ( I hope).

Funny story about TVR's. In high school I went on a blind date. When I went to pick up my date, I walked past the garage and noticed a car in there under a car cover. I knew instantly from the shape that it was a 2500M. When her dad opened the door, I said, "hey, is that a TVR 2500M in the garage"? He looked stunned that a 16 year old kid would have any knowledge of a TVR. His eyes lit up and and he welcomed me into the house. We have been great friends ever since. He still has the TVR.

It turned out to be the best and only blind date I have ever been on. The daughter was HOT and we dated for a long long time, and I got to drive the TVR frequently.

But how was the ride on the Daughter?

She was built and fun to handle. Car wasn't bad either.

I just puchased a '74 TVR 2500M. I joined this forum just today and made my first post in the introduction section. I've posted a couple pictures of the car there for anyone that is interested. I'm well versed in cars in general, but this is my first British car, so I'll probably be asking a lot of questions. My first one is - Where do you buy parts for these things?
Jim

Please add me to the list of 2500M owners. I just bought mine three days ago, and even though it isn't running I'm in heaven!

Not a clue on your parts but I bet someone here does. Welcome.

Contact Marshall at Motorworks, he also frequents this list. He is also the Pres of TVRCCNA, which I would recommend you join. His website is https://www.cmw-tvr.com/

Yes.

Thanks, Bravenrace!

I don't have a TVR, but I am renting one of my two sheds (the HSTRL Annex) to a buddy. He keeps the very first Vixen made in there, and I am getting curious about TVRs.

List? LIST?!!! This is not a list, its a FORUM! LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

And thank you for that! Lists are BOOORING.

It was my former participation on "lists" that prompted me, in part, to start BCF in the first place. I thought "there has to be a better way," and there was! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Years ago, there was a guy in Longbranch, N.J. who was a virtual TVR guru... his name was DeLisa (don't remember his first name) and he had a glass & mirror company. A google search might yield some interesting info for you TVR guys. I know he had made body molds and had quite extensive knowledge of the cars and had many parts around for them!!

Yes, his name was Mike DeLisa, but he has now sold all of his parts inventory. I spoke with him last spring about that and was told he had sold off everything TVR some time back.
