TVR owners on this list?

Actually the most dangerous car I can think of would be a Berkeley / Hyabusa. Except that most of the wheels generally stay connected to Berkeleys. ( more than can be said about TVR ) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

If I were to buy another LBC, it would be a TVR - I didn't get a chance to drive one until after I got my '4A and I have to admit I LOVED the way it handled! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif I'd still rather have a ragtop tho /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Not a problem, get a 3000S or a Wedge convertible (or an S1 or S2 if you import from Canada). Just be prepared to shell out the big bucks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, that would be the OTHER reason I don't own a TVR /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

A good TVR is no more expensive than a TR6, slightly more than a CB MGB and less than an XKE. IMHO, quite the bargain since it is far more satisfying than any of the others in many ways.

I fully agree. I have been driving TVRs for the better part of 30 years now. If you get a TVR that has been well maintained, it can be a very dependable, and inexpensive exotic to own. However, just like anything else, if you buy one that has not been properly kept up, it can become a money pit.

Or you can buy one like mine which has been somewhat in the middle /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif IMHO, they are no more fickle than any other LBC, I have 2 others so I am speaking with some experience. The wedges in particular have many parts still available from parts houses (Ford and Bosch).

Ok, next time I'm in the market for an LBC I'll do my best to find a TVR ... does this mean I've gone over to the Dark Side?

You will only be going to the dark side if you by a Wedge like mine. Then again, it is the Dark side of enlightenment, whatever that may mean.

A definite shade of grey? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Where are they all?

Let's get some conversation on this page. Where have all the old Griffs and TVRs gone?
Let me know...

I was wondering how many TVR owners frequesnt this list.

[/ QUOTE ]

I did a search of the member profiles and turned up: 25 TVRs and 2 Griffiths.
Breakdown:
2500M = 4
280i = 4
Griffith = 2
Vixen = 2
Taimar = 2
Grantura = 1

and that leaves 10 TVR owners that didn't specify their cars, or aspiring TVR owners....

Now you can deduct one from the Taimar numbers and add one to the 280i owners since I just sold the Taimar and bought the 280i (my 6th TVR in the last 30 years.)

Re: Where are they all?

To fibreglass heaven! How are you doing, Mike?
Cheers, David. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Re: Where are they all?

I am an ex-TVR owner, after racing a Grantura Mk 3 for many years. I sold my car last year to a guy in Holland who just finished the Spa 6 hour historic race in it.

I am down to one race car (MGA Twincam) that I still don't have time to play with.

Re: Where are they all?

I thought I had responded to this once before. I guess not...
I own a 1974 2500M

I have a 1985 TVR 280i......on jackstands. Can someone with a 280i take a look and let me know which direction the waterpump rotates? I'm having a hard time getting the mechanical fan off the waterpump and I'm starting to think it's reverse threaded. Thanks

Ted
