Turn Signals have stopped working

Could it be a switched Power Lead for the radio? I rewired the radio direct to the fuse block switched and non switched sides of the blocks with a DPST Mini Switch mounted on the left lower dash mount bracket just above my left knee, so I could run the radio without burning out the points or having fuel pump running.

I think the horn is still working or it was before I took out the console and moved it to the side for access.

OK had some time to play with Bugsy and Turn Signals this PM. It appeared I had a lot of resistance from center lead on the turn signal stalk for the flasher wire and I cleaned up the connections with a Dremel tool and the resoldered the pressed / crimped connections. Now reads zero resistance from plug connector input Green wire to the output side of the plug through both sides of the flasher unit. Reconnect, add power I hear one little click and lights don't flash. Emergency Flashers flash bright and rapidly. As a last test as I scratched my head and mumbled WTF to myself, I disconnected the flasher can and connected to the old OEM flasher unit that I thought stopped working years ago. Voila add power, right signal flashes. Try the left signal and signal comes on but does not flash. Emergency flashers work as well.

1) Is there a specific style of Flasher Can, voltage rating that I should be using. They all look the same on the shelf.
2) Am I now needing to chase a Bad Ground on the Left Flasher Wires, lamp comes on but does not flash. These are single filament bulbs in my Behive Lamps, originally rear BE Turn Signal Lamps, mounted on the front. I do not have parking lamps connected on the front.

No more time to check out bullet connectors in the bonnet or the 6 way trailer harness plug I'm using as a quick disconnect when the bonnet comes off to connect the front wiring harness to the BE Bonnet. But again LF/LR flashes brightly and rapidly on emergency signals. I use a common ground for all of the ground wires going through the 6 way plug.

Thoughts gentlemen?

Jim they are based on the load resistance. The regular ones flash with the load of two bulb filaments(front rear), the heavy duty ones flash with the load of more bulbs than that for the bulbs of a trailer or something.
The regular ones are made to flash with the load of two bulbs and not flash with the load of one bulb to let you know that you have a bulb out. I would check that both front and rear bulbs are working on the left.

That could be the problem Kim. Things appeared to be lighting Front and rear but will check when I can get back to it and then to get the console reinstalled and the wiring tucked back away. The simple thing to check out has been 3+ weeks as a "roundtoit" job. Now if the more than 3" of rain we've gotten since Tuesday would quit...

OK finally found some time to work on Bugsy and turn signals are once again working. Discoveries along the way ked me to the conclusion that:
1) After 10 years time to go back and clean up all of the bullet connectors uner the dash. Dremel tool with a small cone shaped sanding bit works great along with a mini wire wheel brush for the outside.
2) Changing to a smaller flasher from the heavy duty unit I had in there probably fixed the flasher issue.
3)Don't allow your 8,9,10,11 y.o. grandsons to make Vroom, Vroom noises while simultanteously yanking hard on turn signals and wiper stalks. As much as I loved wathching these little guys place race car driver I missed the last 3-4 week of fabulous fall driving as I had the dash torn apart t ofix turn signals that quit working.

One curious thing I need help to explain. The Panasonic Radio/CD Player I have installed in the console goes Beep/Beep normally when I turn off the ingnition. The radio does get a trickle constantly off of the batttery as a keep alive for the station settings. OK normal operation all is well.

I went to bolt up the steering column after getting all of the plastic put back in place for the column surround and all of a sudden radio goes beep /beep as I touched the column to the underside of the dash and began to bolt it into place. My question is why? Negative ground car,is there something to do with the ground on the horn stalk when I connected the column. But the horn works with the lights/horn switch hanging down and not screwed into place on the steering column. This one is a mystery and perhaps I've got some sort of electrical leakage/short I need to be concerned about. Thoughts gentlemen?

Another hour's worth of work and console will be back in place , wires all rebundled and tie wrapped, shifter reinstalled, vacumned and mnaybe a drive this afternoon. Yeah!!!!
