Getting ready to paint my TR6, just need to finish the hood and then block out the primer and its ready for paint.
I want to try out the attachments so lets see if my hood shows up.

Dude, your passenger is gonna need a few phone books to sit on just to see over that thing! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

It certainly is unique. Could you not fit the turbo under the hood, or did you just not want to?

wow - and I thought that the response to the suggestion of a V8 was unenthusiatic. You are going to get
sterb082.gif
around here.

imo - btw - it's your car do what you want. It's not my thing though.

Great flames icon. Got to agree with you, not the look I'd go for.

On a closer peek at the pic , I don't think we're talk'n 152 cu TR motor. It's look'n like a small block to me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
OK TRED, you started the fire, fess up.

OK I will fess up.
Back in 1974 I purchased my 69 TR6, in 1987 I hit a telephone pole and totaled the car. Pushed the passengers headlight back about 2 feet.
I love this car so after watching it rust until 1998 I decided to either build a new frame and put a V8 in or scrap it out and I couldn't scrap it out.
It made a great project for myself and my then 13 year old son.
After parting out the car, my rebuilt motor went into a TR6 that needed a motor, my OD trans will be in another car, and I hope my wire wheels will be used again.
Whats in the TR6 now? A full tube chassis, 9" ford ,T400, and a Pontiac 455.
This car went 9.99 at 135 MPH at the strip with the 455 on nitrous and iron heads. With the big turbo and alum. heads
it should go much faster.
Just thought I would take a little heat off the other V8 guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The attachment is the bent TR6

Is it tubbed too? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes its tubbed, and I run 29/14.5/15 Quick time pros.
So it doesn't burn much rubber.
I also have BFG drag radials for the street.
A word of warning, don't ever ride in a friends 9.4 150 MPH Mustang you could go broke tring to go that fast.
And a picture of the TR6 at the strip.
If I have posted this before sorry.

Yea, I noticed that the engine looked like a "V" of some sort too. Is the protrusion out the center of the hood another turbo?

Turbo'd 455 Pontiac motor in a TR6?!?!?! OK, thats just insane!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

As others have said, it's not quite the look I'd go after even though I'm a big fan of Detriot mills, but heck, that's gotta be one wicked ride! You ever get any dyno numbers off this thing?

That pic of the car after the accident is sad, poor little TR. I hope no one was hurt in that little fender bender.

TRED, your a sick, sick man /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif but I love it.

I especialy love the line "I also have BFG drag radials for the street." I would wet my pants if you ever drove by me !!!!

Very cool.
