Any tips on how to get in the trunk of a 79 MGB. The key goes in the lock cylinder and turns it but then when the button is pushed nothing happens. Maybe someone has a trick or an alternative means of getting in.
 
John Twist from university motors has a video on youtube that shows how to open the boot from the reverse lens using a long metal rod shaped appropriately. He's not successful in the video, but insists it works. Not sure if it will help, but I hope it does. Good luck! Others will probably have better advice!
 
Push down hard on the trunk lid while you press the button, then yank up. Sometimes you have to wiggle the lid around as you push. If that fails, you can drill out the tumbler and replace it once the latch has been properly adjusted.
 
Got speakers in your rear bulkhead?
