Re: Triumph owners in Ottawa? Or Ontario generally
There are no local parts suppliers that I know of in the Ottawa area, although you can go to some of the service shops (e.g. Redshaw) and buy parts from them. Usually pretty pricey.
The only Canadian links I have are as follows:
https://www.bmc.on.ca/storeFront/store/index.asp
https://www.macgregorukcarparts.com/about.htm
https://www.obsoleteauto.com/
As mentioned in a previous post, I have heard good things about Obsolete. All of the above will have some shipping cost, albeit not international.
Personally, I have found it cheaper at the end of the day to buy from US or UK suppliers, even with the additional shipping cost. You have to look at your particular needs and price them out, but with the Canadian dollar a little stronger recently both the UK and US prices are easier to take.
Shipping from the UK is pretty expensive. But again it depends on the underlying parts cost. I have bought stuff from Canley Classics which came out pretty reasonable compared to North American costs FOB Ottawa.
My main suppliers are TRF, Spitbits and BP Northwest, in no particular order. BPNW has good prices and fast (overnight) shipment with no surcharges at this end. Plus you can see the shipping cost online as you order. BPNW does not stock as wide a selection as others, but what they do supply seems to be good quality. TRF usually sends by USPS, and shipping costs are reasonable, particularly when they have special deals, but of course its slower. You probably wouldn't use Spitbits. I have not tried VickyBrit or Moss myself.
If you're new to Ottawa, I would invite you to check out the Ottawa Valley Triumph club at:
