Transmission Mount Replacement

I'm going to replace the transmission mount on my TR3A. Should I get it out by taking out the cross plate that it mounts on, or is there a better/easier way? Its a non-overdrive.
Thanks,
John

On my 4A cross piece and exhaust hanger had to come out also, also a strap from the shifter is in there. I did from bottom, kinda tight. Would be much easier from top except gearbox cover and all that would need to come off.

Thanks Richard. I did take the cover off so that I could clean out the crud and see the parts little better. I dug out a lot of muck.
