Transmission BN2 with 28/1292 overdrive

I bought a 58 100/6 with transmission issues...only the normal, noisy 1st and reverse

However the seller kindly sent me a spare transmission ( BN2 ) an Overdrive Laycock de Normanville S/No 28 /1292/5152 ( with adaptor plate ) and as I read is suitable for a 100 along with the bell housing

I have decided to have my existing transmission and overdrive restored so I was trying to determine before I advertise the spare ( which has also been refurbished ) to which models this BN2, Series 28/1292 overdrive, adaptor plate and bell housing would be suited?

I am assuming, given that it has a 100 overdrive it would be more suited to early cars, say up to 1956

Any advice would be appreciated

Sounds like what you have is complete from bellhousing to drive flange. That would be a direct replacement for any BN2. It would also be capable of being retrofit to a BN1. There would some OD rewiring to be done, trans mounts to fit and, I believe, a slightly longer driveshaft needed. This is not an uncommon swap.
