TR6 Trailing Arm NYLATRON bushing-washer gap questions

Hi all. I have an occasional ‘pop’ coming from what feels like under my seat. I can only see the trailing arm mounts causing this? It primarily pops when the car goes from forward motion to reverse motion. My assembly notes that state that I ended up with .011” clearance on the driver side brackets. Both sides were lubed with lubriplate on assembly. The TAs were free to move up and down and did so easily and quietly before the road spring was fitted.

I measured the clearances today (on the car assembled) and got:
Outer Bracket: Outboard: .027” Inboard: 0
Inner Bracket: Outboard: .020” Inboard: .006”

It’s possible to have a zero clearance on one side since the metal sleeve can slide inside the bushings…Correct?

I can’t really duplicate this noise in the garage by placing a jack under the brake drum and moving the rear suspension up and down. BTW, both sides actually pop and the inboard gap of the RH outer bracket also had 0 clearance. I followed Bob’s great article on the subject at the time (2009-10). Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Tim

Don't sound like the trailing arms, but I could be wrong. Could be the brake shoes stuck on the drums. Check the shoes to make sure they are not moving fore & aft when you change the direction of rotation.

Sleeve inside a "bushing"
The original rear differential mounts had a metal sleeve bonded to the rubber portion of the mount...If that bond gives out there will be a metallic sound as you change directions.

Here is a picture of the inner sleeve from Bob Danielson's excellent Nylatron installation article. I installed these ~2010.
