Wedge TR8 interiors

Anybody know the best place to get info on what kind of interiors were available?
I have not gotton my Brit Motor Herit. certificate yet, and I don't believe my tan leather interior is original.

Bill Piggott's book "Original Triumph TR7 & TR8" has a pretty good rundown. If the original build plate or ID tag on the rear of the drivers door is intact it will give a code that can be interpreted (usually) as to what was original. ie: If the trim code is AAM that should indicate a Tan interior.

1980 convertibles came with either tan plaid or blue plaid. 1981s came with tan or blue velour. Coupes had solid tan, solid black, green plaid, and red/black plaid. No leather interiors were ever available on wedges.

Love the custom interior but not crazy about the steering wheel....looks like your interior Todd in the green 8.

That interior makes the car look more like a modern car. What is with those heater vents on top of the dash? They look like pasta dies.

How on God's green earth was that made? The whole back panel had to be moved backward and welded in place. Custom floorboards to fill in at the feet.

My goodness that had to have been a HUGE project. Where did you see this?

The TR7/8 book can actually be bought cheaper and have it so it covers the TR2 thru the TR8s. Bill Piggott has a combined version of all the cars he has done guides for.
Here is how they do the 2+2 and it is not as hard as one would think. The seats were recovered in leather in the blue Grinnall and if you look closely it also is a 2+2 coupe.
