TR6 TR6 TIRES

My attitude is
Why should I put my life at risk for where they are made?

Shannon,

Due to the fact that our cars came into this country legally and have remained here in good faith, under the care and supervision of legally born citizens of this great nation and the fact that they have left their respective marks on thosands, perhaps millions of individual plots of native American soil, I hereby request amnesty and immediate citizenship to all British cars imported over the last century.

This will enable us to take them in for free health care, welfare and get food stamps for them, which means free tune-ups, oil changes and replacement parts and labor forever. And once they are here past the age of 65, they can receive full social security benefits, which is a whole other story......

I just got a little irritated about the communism comment.... I'm red, white and blue through and through here.. I won't buy a new car unless it's American.. and when I can, I like to buy "made in the USA". But that's nearly impossible these days.

My mom, always the one to send me chain e-mails that have been forwarded eighty times before me, sent me an email titled "THE 545 PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR AMERICA'S WOES", of course the email was referring to the members of congress. And I did something that I never had done before: Replied to everyone on the list: "Why doesn't anyone ever blame the 201 million other people that voted them in?"

I feel much the same way about buying goods from other countries. Triumphs weren't imported and bought because they were cheap, but nearly all the good from China are; It's our choice as Americans to buy or not to buy. Doesn't matter what type of government is in control or how the workers are treated. As long as the price is low we're happy.

Why bother to have an army to beat us when we'll give you our country instead?

I agree with your comments Shannon. I didn't mean to stir people up with politics. I realize that much of what I buy comes from governments I do not particularly care for (I'm sure that I buy more than I am even aware from.)If given the choice with a comparable product, I would rather buy from the US when I can. So, does anyone know which tires are made in the US?

I think Cooper tire, Goodyear, Falls, Guardsman, Kelly Springfield, Mastercraft, Sears Roadhandler & Unocal 76 are the only US owned companies left... Michelin, even though there are plants in the US, is a French company (I'm not really sure what type of government the French have this week  ).

The best way to tell where are tire is made is to look on the sidewall, because many of the domestically owned tire companies have offshore plants too.
