TR6 TR6 fuel line / mechanical fuel pump compression?

Hi guys - dealing with the not uncommon issue of my new fuel pump having threads that are too deep for the compression fitting to work. Yes, it is leaking as a result.

Is the fix for this to buy a second one of these and slip it on the fuel line so it will tighten up before the compression fitting before the threads bottom out?

I have tried that. It didn't work for me. The solution is to get the proper compression fitting. The problem with that is that it seems no one has them. Earlier this year while helping to get a car running we got so disgusted by not being able to stop the fuel leak that we converted from the steel hard line after the fuel pump to a rubber fuel line. We took off the fuel pump and got a brass barb fitting and taped the fuel pump body to accept the fitting. The owner has been able to drive the car with no leaks ever since.
If you do find the proper size fitting, post it so that I could also get some!

I went to a specialty store and they had a larger (longer and fatter but still correct diameter)compression fitting that appears to have done the job. Roman, is there a hot rod shop or industrial hose company nearby?
