I purchased 2 gaskets that go behind the door catch plate, scanned it into my computer and printed it out and its identical in size, so you could make your own from gasket material, here is the file if you want to make some, after posting I will open the file print and check the size to see if correct note it works, make sure it prints 100 percent size and not larger

Thanks for the template Hondo. I certainly agree with Ray.
I've had to fabricate many bits myself from local raw materials
because the "Special Extra Profit" ooppps (Special shipping) to my
zip code can add $50 to $90 to a $6.00 part.

Banjo gifted me a small sheet of universal gasket material two years
ago during his visit. That sheet has saved me a small forture in
"Special Extra Profit" for small gaskets I needed.

best regards,

dale

I understand too, my problem is in order to get the doors to latch without rubbing I need about 1/4 inch of thickness behind the gasket, I call on powerplants and one guy gave me some 1/4 inch gasket material so I am going to cut them out of that. I have tried moving the doors but in order to get the gap even I have to shim the plates 1/4 inch so dont start telling me to adjust at the hinges

Maybe my old brain is failing me but I believe on my TR4, that gasket is a metal shim with sharp dimples to keep the door catch plate from moving around.

Both the doors had less than perfect gaps (no, the frame was not rotten) and the all-new door catches and locks would bind, same as the old worn ones. I traced and fabricated a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate the same shape as the gasket and solved that problem. Bumped the catch plate out by that far and no more binding. Quick fix for otherwise major body work. Some Triumphs just have lousy body/door fits.....
