Can someone tell me where the timing mark is on the crankshaft so I could refitt the timing chaion & camshaft??

I do not see any mark.

Thanks

YH

houleyh, you will have to put the crankshaft sprocket on and the cam shaft sprocket on for a temp fit as these have a small punch mark in each for alignment. A couple of things, the crank should be pointing north or straight up and the other is the cam sprocket can be arranged in four different places, so be sure your timing for #1 is correct. If you have new sprockets they may not have the punch mark, so just start off with the crank in the right position and go from there. Wayne (Hope you have a DIY book.)

That is, the crank keyway should be pointing up. When I did this procedure, I verified that the dots on the crank sprocket and cam chainwheel were aligned with a metal rule at TDC before removing them. Then I transferred the chainwheel dot/line to the new chainwheel. I had bought a new sprocket but found that it was keyed wrong in comparison with my old one.
