TR5/TR250 TR5

I would have said that it's governed by what someone is willing to pay...

Anyone want to place bets as to whether this will be on for a 4th straight week?

Regardless of who the seller is or weather he sells his car this time around, I hope the VTR is smart enough to part ways with this guy. I would never join that organization if this is representative of the character of people running it.

.

Well, this round is over.

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

The seller had dropped the reserve so that the next bid would meet reserve and the car would sell. When the next bid didn't come yesterday / last night and he ended the auction early.

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

What was the highest bid before the auction ended?

SearcherMan, Would you know?

I`m sure all here are curious.

Thanx and Best Wishes,

Russ

SHEESH, Guys! I leave the country for a couple weeks, and look what happens! :eeek:

OK, we've been down the ebay trail here before, and if you'll remember, the rules are that since Basil is the owner of the Forum, his can and reputation are on the line. Let's not trash sellers or buyers; I think the ebay process can take care of that.

As for our identities, we each have differing opinions on that. My name is posted, as is my location. I remember that each time I type a post. Believe me, I've bitten holes in my tongue, but discretion being the better part of valor...

Let's keep it fun, OK?

Thanks,
Mickey

Actually, I'm a coonass.

But don't tell anyone...

I guess I don't understand why this guy (the TR5 seller) is being beaten up so much around here. He is selling, and I think we can agree on this, a relatively rare automobile. I suppose he could have vacuumed it out a bit and rattle canned the suspension for the pics, but he has shown it as it should be, a driver. While not exactly a model of tact in his discourse, I understand some of the frustration exhibited in his ebay comments. Check out the prices being paid for 60's and early 70's 396 SS Chevelles, GTO's , Barracuda's or a tri 5 Chevy. You will see Chevelles on ebay for 40,000+, I'll bet there are more 396 SS in existence now than were built! A 57 Chevy will sell for over 70,000. If you go to a car show in even a relatively small town you will see, if you are bored enough to look, scores of this stuff. And look at the absolute crap engineering in these old muscle cars, drum front brakes in a car approaching 400hp, no wonder so many of them are trailer queens, they are not safe to drive. Detroit turned out a gazillion of these heaps. Don't even get me started on old Rustangs, the largest mass produced junker I have ever seen. Yea I know, its the market.

OK, I feel better know.

Oh yea, about organization memberships, if they discriminated against crabby old curmudgeons, we wouldn't belong anywhere, the organization would be the worse, we do have talents beyond our unappealing presentation.

Come on, Fr. Mickey. You know that Who Dat is a marketing tool. You really need to be saying, <span style="font-size: 14pt">"Where-yat,chamudda."</span>

You still wear white socks, don't cha, or was you one of them <span style="text-decoration: underline">Uptown Boys.</span>

I still think you know where Mary's Tavern was but don't want to acknowledge it.

Cusimano's perchance.
