We installed our padded dash today and would like to know how far back are we suppose to trim the excess weatherstrip? Thanks

Not that difficult just time consuming. We are replacing all the dash parts and weatherstrips so everything had to be removed. If your just replacing the dash pad you may want to replace the windshield mounting gasket if it is bad. You will probably have to remove the gauges to access the metal dash mounting bolts as the dash pad slides between the top and the face of the metal dash.

Etc, etc. My original plan was to just replace the dash pad...

Worth tidying up and replacing as needed once you're in there.

Here is what mine looks like. I don't recall if I had to cut it, or if it came the correct length.

Looks like a great job you're doing. When I did mine, I had one distraction after another, like re-wrapping the wiring harness, re-doing the wiper motor and whip housing, etc.

Is that British Racing Green? Who painted it?

Fantastic, and glad to see another TR will be on the road like new.

By the way, another plug: Prestige (Randy Keller in Santa Ana)has a great selection of veneers and some exotic wood, and can replicate original or furnish to glossy, glass tough varnished finish. He manufactures custom for for the bigger suppliers.

I have to second Randy and Prestige, you can see the corner of my dash that he did in the picture.
