TR4/4A TR4 SVRA Watkins Glen in car

Here is another one from 2008:

It's short and doesn't have a happy ending, but the sound is great! Highest qualifying 4cyl car (3rd of 31 Triumphs) and highest running when the valve dropped. Tom Kreger's TR6 (2nd place) was on very wide Hoosier R6 tires (almost slicks) and the other TR6s were on cantilever slicks - these tires are worth well over 6 seconds a lap over what's on the TR4. The TR250k is on the same tires as the TR, which makes its speed that much more impressive. Driver was 75yo at the time and still does all his own car prep.

Another one from earlier in the 2008 weekend.

Finished 2nd of 49 cars. Just cruising around after the first couple of laps. Traffic on the last lap caused the 3rd place MGB to catch up, but Dick just stuck his foot in it and opened a gap back up.

Realized I haven't updated this thread in a while..

Test day from October 2014 with a friend of the driver/owner in the seat:

From 2015 at Summit Point. Driver (81yo at the time) backs off after passing the grey TR6 to save the car for later in the weekend. Started 2nd oa and was running 2nd oa during the Kastner Cup race when the rains came. Other drivers chose (smartly) on tires and those with deeper tread started coming up through the pack. The driver ended up parking it after a yellow flag snafu that caught others out. Oops!
