Though you asked Randall, I will offer what I did...
My TR4's rubber mounts seemed fine yet clearance between the fan hub and that cross piece was too tight to get a belt thru w/o loosening a mount and jacking up the engine a bit.
I made some spacers out of big fender washers, slotted them to the washer hole so they could be slipped in between the metal & rubber of the mounts.
I also shimmed the radiator a like amount so the top hose would still line up. If you don't do this I would be concerned about a strain on that hose or the top of the radiator.
All total, raised things about 3/16" and all seems fine.
As for moving the engine back -- dunno, seems more practical to move the radiaotr forward if more forward clearance is needed (though even though things look tight between the fan & the rad a belt can sorta be worked around and the fan moved at the same time to get it past that -- and skin some knuckles too).
