TR2/3/3A TR3 Steering lockstop set

Looking for help setting the front suspension lockstop collar ( no. 37, fig. 11.1 pg233 Haynes). Book says special tool required, but I'm thinking a digital angle finder might work. I have the vertical link assembled only to the lower wishbone, free to rotate on the bottom trunnion and have yet to install the upper ball joint. My thinking was to hold the axel vertical and measure the required amount fore and aft, then set the collar.
Also I'm looking for a good source for replacement wheel bearings. I'd like to use timkin, but they seem to be hard to find. Any recommendation for them or a quality substitute?

Thanks

My opinion, it really isn't worth worrying about unless you have a clearance issue somewhere. I always just set it to allow maximum motion, until I started running wide tires and a sway bar; then I set the stops to just keep the tires from rubbing the bar.

TRF sells Timkin bearings....

Looks like RockAuto still has them in Timken as well. Quite a bit cheaper than TRF, but harder to be sure you are ordering the right thing. They sell the cups & cones separately, so for the inner bearing you need 07100S cone plus 07210X cup. Outer I believe is 03062 cone plus 03162 cup.

In my opinion, National, NTN and SKF are also quality bearings. The main thing to watch out for (again IMO) are the "no name" bearings (including those that have been repackaged by County or Bap-Geon).
