TR2/3/3A TR3 Rear Cpping

Starting on my cockpit cappings and the rear one doesn't seem to fit very well it wants to go up against the lift-the-dot pegs which will interfere with the top snapping on. Could someone post a picture of theirs. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Greg

When I redid mine, the rear capping wasn't fitting right either, also hitting the pegs. So I painstakingly recurved and reformed the entire piece by rolling the curve forward using a wooden dowel and rawhide hammer. It was a labor of love, took quite a while to get it fitting close enough to mate with the side pieces. It's still not perfect but probably never was from the factory.

Will this help ?

Thanks fellows, Don the picture helps. How close does the capping come to the pegs to be right? By the pict it looks like about a 1/4"

When you use a small 1/4" drive socket on the hexagon of the peg, the outside diameter of the socket should be just about touching the vinyl on the rear capping. For some of mine, I have to finish screwing the chromed pegs down with a tiny adjustable spanner (Westcott) because the extra thickness of the chrome they put on the hex prevents me from getting enough of the socket down onto the hex head. So the last few turns to tighten down the peg is slow - one hex flat at a time - so I don't scuff the red vinyl. But at VTR and TRA, the judges can't see this because their regs require that you have your top up for examination of the quality, workmanship and finish of the erected ragtop.

Thanks Don, I have the peg already on so I'll use a socket on the pegs as a guide to attach the cappings up to socket side.
Thanks again
Greg
