On an old style tr3 Lucas coil there is a screw in the center. Can this screw be removed? What I did was to attempt to remove the screw and some oil came out. Does anyone know if I damaged the coil or not. Sp53

If you have the same old coil I had, it has a threaded tower on top that fastens to a hollow "nut" through which the wire to the distributor goes. The coil end of the wire should have about 1/2 inch of bare wire that goes through a washer and then is splayed out to contact the bottom of the socket of the coil. The "nut" is removable but to my knowledge, not the threaded portion of the coil. My coil was fried at the bottom of that hole and would no longer make good contact so I replaced the coil with the "sport" lucas coil.
