TR3 in Tucson, AZ

Howdy,
I've been registered for a couple of years now but have yet to post.
I bought my rustbucket TR3 and promptly trailered it to a friends house for repair. It sat for over a year as he cut out the cancer and welded in new metal when he had time. He gradually lost interest and overcharged me, so I took it to a real body shop to finish the job and slap on some paint.
Now, two years later, I'm starting the reassembly process. I am mostly using the original parts but some are too far gone. The replacement parts that i've been ordering have been surprisingly bad quality in both fit and finish, which makes for a slow and frustrating project. The car is a runner (or at least it was) and just needs a brake job once it all goes back together.
I'm looking forward to driving it, hopefully in the spring before our Arizona summer.

Hi There Johnny,

"Welcome Back". It appears that your on the right track to a Home Run, Good looking TR3.

What Yr, VIN# etc is she? That would help all of us in possibly answering questions to the "Best" place to buy the parts you need or may even have some good Orig. for sale.

Introduce Yourself & Your TR to the "Triumph Forum" and ask away. There is no doubt you`ll get a ton of help there.

Best Wishes,

Russ

I don't check this intro forum often so someone had to tell me about your entry. Great work so far on that TR3A.

In case you don't know, we have a very large and very active British car club here in Tucson. Typically 3 or 4 long drives to lunch or breakfast each month. The usual shows of course. Lift days at a member's garage, a Garage Tour to see collections & shops around town and a couple of 1000 mile cruises a couple of times per year.

There are a couple of TR3 & 4 projects currently underway and several really knowledgeable individuals who expertise and skills I have often called on.

We also meet for coffee and talk every Tuesday morning 7:30 to 9:30 at the Starbucks on the NE corner of Grant & Swan. Many Brit cars show up (usually 2 or 3 TR3As), some come early (before work) some come late (sneak out of work) some come early and stay late (retirees). Some don't even drink coffee.

Stop by if you can or let me know if you want more info. I'll PM also you with all this important stuff.
