TR2/3/3A TR3 engine hood wanted

I've got a spare 59 hood (bonnet) here in Oregon City. It's a bit rough but salvagable.

You should work out if you have the pre- or post-TS60000 body. The hood/bonnet, like almost every other panel on the car, changed at that point. Although the factory made the switch in late 59, many cars were sold and titled as being later years, so your '60' may have been made before the change.

You can add spacers under the hinges to make the early hood fit the later cars, but it would better to get the right hood. Practically any TR3 fan will spot the difference, even if they don't say anything.

Also do not forget that the letter holes changed between the early and late hoods. That would be a real mess to want to change from the ribbed letter holes to the smooth letter holes--very different. Randall states that the hinge mounting is different --early is flat and later is raised.

I have a '59 bonnet with raised hinge plinths, pretty good shape, needs a little work on the under side of left front corner. Also have a perfect boot lid skin (no underside bracing), also with raised hinge plinths.

I am in Marysville WA. 35 miles north of you.
