Hi all does anyone know what the little clip is for that is on the back of the dash brackets on a 61 tr3. I talked to a tr guru once and me maintained that they are for putting a clip on to hold the water temp tube in place? The picture is kinda ok the bracket is in the front.

I believe that's for the bracket that helps hold up the glove box at the rear of the box.

Edit: There's another bracket for the choke cable, but that's more in the center IIRC.

If, by "back of the dash brackets," you mean the end away from the dash, then I agree with Art. It's bent -- it should be at a right angle -- but that's what it is.

If I were to refer to this part, I would call it the "front" of the bracket, as it is towards the front of the car. It's a good convention. "Front" = front of the car -- always.
