Hi tr3 people my question is. What is the correct color for the air clearers on a tr3, flat black, satin or glossy black?

Regards George

All the pictures I have seen of original air cleaners show a gloss black paint. I just looked at "Original TR2/3/3A" and it still appears that gloss black is correct.

Keep in mind that modern gloss black is certainly higher gloss than the junk paint used by Triumph (especially after a few weeks on the boat over here!) So a modern standard black might look more "original," but it is intended to be gloss.

I think you've had several questions about originality, would you like a copy of the TRA (Triumph Register of America) "Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines" for the TR3?

Hi Geo yes sure. I did not know that such a document existed. How do I go about getting one?
Regards George
