Rained all weekend so I thought I would dig into the gauge rebuild.
Sorry I can't offer a photo - I left my digital camera in Swindon, following my trip to Stoneleigh. Waiting for FedEx to deliver it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
BUT
When I disassembled the fuel gauge I noticed that it had a strip of light blue tinted plastic around the inner circumference. I am assuming that this is intended to allow light from the dash bulbs in and dirt out of the gauge. Is this assumption correct???The other small gauges, temp, oil pressure and ammeter also had plastic strips, but they were (maybe 50 years ago) clear. The tach and speedo did not have this plastic strip.
The condition of the bezels on the small gauges is OK. However I need new bezels for both the speedo and tach. I specifically looked for these at Stoneleigh with no luck. Does anyone know of a source of new bezels?
Cheers Frank /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif
