TR2/3/3A TR 3A Accelerator Bushing Placement

Thanks for the pin clarification, Randall.

As some of the members have probably noticed, I am a fan of words, and especially fond of knowing and using the correct names of parts. This is probably due to being the son of two linguists.

Not all persons in a technical field share my fascination with words. I found this out as a teacher of Aviation Tech.

Anyway, at the TRA National Meet in Hershey years ago, I stopped to help a TR4 driver, I forget who it was, who had broken down. His throttle linkage was not working. I looked in the manual and found that his Mills pin was broken. I was delighted to learn of a hitherto unknown to me part name!

Just then, another TR driver stopped and asked, "What's wrong?"

"The Mills pin!", I exclaimed.

You never saw such a rolling of eyes and look of disgust as was on the newcomer's face. I guess he thought I was being a Smart-aleck when he was being serious.

I am often a Smart-aleck, but wasn't this time.

Well, I was able to reuse the old mills pin. The accelerator assembly, I am happy to say, is fully in place and I have the scars to do go with the job, heh.

Thanks for all your help, patience and pictures.
