Does anyone know the procedure for replacing the rear fender bead? I know new ones are available, but haven't found the procedure for replacing them anywhere. The front bead seems to be spot welded to the fender. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif PJ

On an MGB? Its also spot welded to the rear quarter & bent over the bodyshell like the front fender...how to replace it? Replace the rear quarter!

Thanks Tony, You told me exactly what I didn't want to hear. Guess what? The old ones are staying on it! PJ

Well, you could spend several hundred hours removing the old qarter panel, installing new bead, & reinstaling the panel......hehehehehe

several hundred hours?

Keny - do you know how many spot welds there are on a rear quarter? & lots of them are hidden in the inner fender or up under the top edge of the trunk..& each one has to be drilled out.

Been there, done that - 1 time!

mehheh. Oh, YEAH!

I spent HOURS "remanufacturing" the bead contour on the B here. Still didn't spend as much time/money as I would have by yanking all to pieces to replace it. Only *close* scrutiny will find it is not "real" and if'n anyone starts to get THAT close they're in danger of receiving a chipped tooth in the process. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
