MGB Too late to turn back now. 67 MGB

Looks good, Bob. I'm looking forward to seeing some color!

Dave, I just returned from the paint store. No problem mixing the color. Your 69 MGB is one of the few that actually look better in person than in photos. If you get bored wander over and have a look. Bob

Did this'n in Alfa red... AR-501.

Doc, when you going to clean out that garage?

Or, buy the house next door & turn it into a garage!

Whn tht was taken there was a Lotus buried in there! It's moved now.

...I figger'd I'd get grief over "The Pile" from someone... :smirk:

So, new garage photo is required for forgiveness!

Tony beat me to it. I was thinking that nice MGB is outside while that pile is inside. Seems backwards to me.

Here is a update. Monday was block sand and reprime day, Tuesday was sand inner body. Wednesday was finish inner body sanding and mask and spray passenger compartment and under fenders. Today:Thursday was remask and spray jambs, trunk and under hood. The pics are pretty crappy. The next step is to spray the undersides of the hood, trunk lid and inside the doors. If we get rain tomorrow I get a day off!...Or maybe I can tear into the trans and actually get something done! Done before 1:30 another early day! I wonder whats on Jerry Springer today? Bob

Bill, I have some heat. Plus I would not do the outer skin until it warms up a bit. Today I called the former owner of the car. She was happy to hear it was being rebuilt. I told her about the B.C.Fourm. Carol,If you want to contact me my email is MGRAGMAN@aol.com This morning I painted the undersides of the hood, trunk and insides of the doors. Its been a lazy day. Getting the trailer ready for the 3.5 hour run to pick up the new project tomorrow. Bob

From the way he desrcibes it earlier, It's exactly what I expected. You aughta see mine !!! At least he's got walls !!! Now I know what your house looks like.

Git'in a better fix on ya more and more !!!! Now all I gotta do is drive around an older Tampa neighborhood and look fer an Alfa, some "B" and a green S. :driving:

KNock knock knock !!!!:hammer: :cowboy:  :thirsty:

Bob,

It's looking awesome! It's amazing how much that color changes depending on the light. In low light it almost looks like a wine or burgundy but when you pull it out in the sun, deep, pure red pops right out at you. I can't wait to see the rest! It's supposed to warm up into the high 40's and possibly the low 50's this week. Maybe we'll get to see the exterior in color.....

Roadstr6-Dave,Thats one of the things that made me want to do a MGB in the red you have on your car. It does not matter what light its in the color looks fantastic. I just can not wait till spring arrives! I hate the cold. Bob

Thanks Bob. Yours will surely put mine to shame when it's finished. I'm glad I could provide a little inspiration at least. Keep up the good work!

Dave

More pics. I sprayed the car yesterday. Starting time was 11 am and finished washing the gun just after 4. Most of the time was waiting for the paint to flash between coats. Minimum time was half an hour each coat. That made for a long day. It was cool so waiting was very important for my painting conditions. I will get on it with color sanding paper in 2 or 3 days. Any longer and the paint is soooo hard that the jobs becomes much harder to do. Bob

Are those stalagtites or stalagmites on the bottom of the left front fender? The car has its own drip zone marking its spot! Bob

Bob;

Those are stalactites, and MG's are completely self-sufficient at marking their territory!

That car looks absolutely gorgeous, as does all your work. Looking forward to the next update.

Dave

It is pretty.

The way I learned it was stalactites "hang tight to the ceiling".

So now that the paints done what time do I drop off mine? :jester:

Stalactites are always better than tequtites "hanging on desperately to the floor so one does not fall off."
