To rechrome or buy new?

I just picked up an emergency brake handle today that a small mom and pop shop in Mobile, AL did for me and the quality is outstanding. They also did the rear bumpers for my Bugeye and they were flawless...there is no comparison between new aftermarket and originals done at a good, quality shop.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am really feeling my way along and this is great information. Although we aren't going for totally origanil,(the paint is candy apple red) we still want a good looking car that we can be proud of. I'll start looking in earnest for a good shop close to home.

Would this be the same for the hub caps Moss sells?
I had my wheels powder coated recently and went to clean up the hub caps last night and there are spots of rust here and there and I can't see putting them on even after I clean them up. One has a dent in it as well.
But, if they repros are cheap I'll invest in rechroming.
There are a few shops around the ATL. If anyone has a recommendation around here please let me know.
