I was talking to a german fellow who used to work in the tire industry and he told me that in North America we tend to run our tires at too low a pressure. He said that the whole firestone/ Ford Explorer episode a couple of years ago might not have happened if we ran our tires at the maximum pressure. After talking to him I upped the pressure in my daily driver and my mgb.I run them both at about 35 lbs.If it works on the Autobahn it will work on our highways!

I was running the MG manual recomended pressures of front 21 psi and rear 24 psi. The car felt like the tires were too soft. I have changed to front 29 psi and rear 32 psi. The car rides a little rougher, but handles much better in the corners. Seems that front pressure needs to be a bit lower to get the feel right in the corners. My gas milage has improved also..
