It happens all the time and makes me crazy. Sometimes
I am charged 150% of the auto part cost for "special
foreign county" rates.............
and then the piece(s) arrive shipped by the United States
Post Office for a few dollars actual cost to the vendor.
Tony is an honest seller and will get all my future TR
parts orders.
I've got 82*F today, what have you got?

Tony is a Moss dealer, thus can sell any parts Moss offers. That means he can cover most all of our favorite LBCs.jjbunn said:Is Tony selling TR parts now? What a great bloke: I bought several pieces from him for my MGB, and I wish he was as active in this forum as he is over on the MG forum. Gave me lots of help.

I was not aware the P.O. won't pickup international packages. I DO know we can't pickup parcels WITH STAMPS weighing more than 13 oz. (security). Learn something new everyday. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gifObiRichKanobi said:I work in the international division of a company that sells pins, challenge coins, and police badges. I run into all these issues trying to get my orders shipped. I've found out that UPS and FedEx do indeed offer "ground" shipping to PR and Hawaii. However, the cost on that is almost the same as doing 2nd day air to stateside locations. I think one problem is that companies assume that they have to ship via air since they are over water. I know I needed to convince my shipping department that we could do it.
As far as shipping to Canada, I normally do that via USPS. The only problem we run into then is customs duties, and we just make it clear to the customer that they are responsible for any duties and fees. One of the other issues is that on anything leaving the US via USPS, we have to deliver them to the post office personally; they will not pick up international shipments from our building. This adds to the labor costs, as we have to pay someone both wages and mileage to take them.

That's all well and good, Rich, except Hawaii,Puerto Rico,
V.I. and Guam are all within the USPS system of normal
delivery and pickup. No special handling required. Name,
address, zip code, postage-----it's delivered!
They pick up at my mailbox at my home.
It burns me up to no end to pay exorbitant shipping fees
and then the part is delivered by the USPS with like
$1.70 postage on it, for instance.
