Thought of the day - food related

I'm one of those rare, yet strange individuals who actually likes kale. Love to cook it up with some bacon and then serve it will a generous spritz of fresh lemon juice. Growing up in West by-gum Virginia, kale and potatoes (small pearl potatoes) was a staple.
I only ever saw kale at the Pizza Hut buffet, as the green stuff they used to decorate the edges. The greens I grew up with were spinach, mustard greens or collard greens.

It is kind of like Tofu. People seem to enjoy it best when combined with foods of overpowering flavor.

Interesting. I grew up with my (Dutch) mother served boracol - mashed potatoes, kale and smoked sausage. I like smoked sausage. :D

Or grits (runs and hides)

I also love grits. But with maple syrup
See much like Tofu - no one actually likes grits, they like what goes with grits - bacon, cheese, butter, maple syrop. It is the stone of stone soup. :D
