Our house was built in 1940. So far as I can tell, the front door is original. In the last 48 hours it has started scraping on the threshold. Couldn't figure out why - today SWMBO & I took a very close look and realized the hinges themselves have cracked! Imagine, 77 years old! (off to the basement to see where it was purchased to get a refund!) :grin:
 
That's funny JP. My dad bought a new Chevy pickup in 1955, after about 15 years of trouble free service, a plug wire went bad and the engine was missing a beat one morning, my dad came into the house and told mom he was taking the truck back where he got it and ask for a refund. It was a joke of course, but kinda stuck all these years. PJ
