That comes when you take a nasty, dirty, muddy greasy project.
Take it apart, strip it down, clean and label each and every part.
Strip the paint, media blast, repair and replace when necessary,
Repaint, replate, refinish - even use different finishes, flat here, gloss there - just to make it more interesting.
Then to rebuild - assembly is the reverse of disassembly
Sometimes it takes time - it can be intimidating reconstructing history
Sometimes, like tonight, it takes a clever solution to a vexing problem.
And then all of a sudden it is done
clean, fresh, pristine.
There's a certain indescribable feeling
when the metal has come together, and come alive,
when the pieces are whole again
and you lean back with a contented sigh
look over your project and think to yourself
I've put it on upside down.
and that's all I'm going to say about that.
