TR2/3/3A The weirdest coolant leak in 57 years

Who freakin knew?? On some tr3/4 motors, there is a bolt drilled into the water jacket at 2'30 on the front timing cover!
This bolt can ,at its own whim, start a coolant leak at any time even when tight. FMR !@!

Those generator bolts can make quite a leak. I found that out the hard way. Best practice is to drill and safety-wire the bolt heads.
 
I don't think all those go through. Your block must have had a core shift that caused it. The alternator mount hole is constant, though!
 
Here's the page from Kas Kastner's competition preparation manual (page 31, as pdf and jpeg) that covers what to do with the generator bracket mounting bolts. The description is at the top of the right hand page, under "other engine parts"

It was not what it appeared to be. My eyes were tricked by the way coolant wanted to track.
