Be honest now - anyone one else where addicted to tracking down LBC "deals" to a point where it almost becomes an obsession?

nope

I have no idea what you are talking about

Ever had a fleeting moment when you would trade your LBC for a pogo stick? Mine is behaving quite well right now so offers are not currently being accepted.

Repeat after me "I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. I will not search e-bay for more parts. "

Anyone else notice that there are a LOT more bits for sale than there were a year ago? Searches for Herald bits in the UK (I order most stuff from the UK) are coming up with 10+ pages. A year ago there were frequently only about 3-5 pages of bits. Unfortunately I have run out of hiding places and my wife noticed last I I smuggled a new box of bits in and hid them on top of the closets.

Yes, to the point where I am now sad I did not purchase a 56 100/4 about a year and a half ago... I thought to myself, I really would like this machine, but I can't hardly find parts for it... plus it needed a full rebuild... but today I totally think it would have been worth it >.<

Heck that is the 2nd most fun part after driving of course.

Hello, my name is Randy and I am addicted to Triumphs. Its getting so bad I think I recognize who I'm bidding against on ebay.

Sad thing is that eBay now almost universally masks bidder IDs. Way back when, I got to know a lot of my fellow Herald Bits Bidders; many of us had a very informal "gentlepersons agreement" not to bid against each other. Can't do that now.... :frown:

obsession--persistant preoccupation w/ an often unreasonable idea or feeling.

addiction--compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance or activity.

Yup, I think that basically sums it up...See you all at the next "meeting". I'm just not so sure I want to be cured of my Triumph Disorder. Brit Bits on sale are hard to resist--just ask my husband! --Monica

I will not search Ebay for more parts, I will not search Ebay for more parts....what's that I see? A TR4 NOS Speedometer at $9.99 with no bids in yet? I can quit after this auction is over..........right?

First thing in the morning I go to this site, VTR and six pack. If I have time I will look at Craigs list and ebay. Not as any deals as there use to be but still can't ever tell. It is almost as much fun as driving and fixing.

Yeah but Andy - I mean I actually think I recognize the masked bidder IDs sometimes! And to prove my point, I lost out on a box of 59 3A parts today - and I'll bet you a donut that there is a BCFer out there right now who knows what I'm talking about!

Randy

It was me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you need from the box Randy?

Well bought Paul! I need to get a life. And Andy owes me a donut.

Randy,

I was leading in the bidding on an item right up until the last 10 seconds on Friday night. And it was by a large amount, with plenty left behind that.

The final ten (10) seconds took over (30) and when it was over, I lost, with no chance to rebid, but the other bidder got 8 bids in the last 10 seconds. That is virtually impossible with the speed of the internet and their servers response time to each bid. The system sucks and if ebay feels they can make a few more bucks, the game goes on.

I only use it for odd ball stuff, as I have a bunch of the important spares now.
