TR2/3/3A The super no-budget TR2 project

Whaaaaat?? That's crazy! I'd love to help out and I'll definitely shoot you an email. I think there is another professor who drives an MGB, I want to talk to them as well.

Anyway you could give me some credits to graduate? :jester:

One of the other auto instructors, Brian Halm, has an MGTD, and he just recently got a Mayers Manx clone Dune Buggy. Hes a lot of fun.
Anyhow, The blog has been started. find it at
superlowbucktr2.blogspot.com
I didn't have much time tonight. I hope to start fleshing it out this weekend.

I'm going to keep updated going here on the BCF, but do you think I should try a blog as well? I've never done one, but I'm sure I can manage.
A blog or website is nice for your own records. I did quite a bit of that on my own website as I worked through the Tunebug restoration, while still posting updates here.

The Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix in 2008 was probably the best TR event I have attended. Triumph was the Featured Marque, the FoT was involved, and you were a part of my enjoyment, The event seems like it would be fun to attend even if one's car wasn't featured.

So, as much as I hate whitewalls on sports cars, you are welcome to any parts in The Lab. The only thing is that I am too ill to rummage through tubs of parts any longer, so you're on your own.

Hey Banjo,

What about some "Before" pics here & on your blog. That`ll give a bunch of folks an idea of what You dealing with. Perhaps educate some folks as to what a Triumph TR2 actually is/looks like.

Best Wishes,

Russ

I agree completely - even though I managed to miss meeting the two of you at the event and I didn't have my TR4 there it was a complete blast. I did take Ben's advice and got some great pics of the cars running the old course - if I were closer I'd go there every year. So Ben, if you hop in a vehicle and get down to Texas you are welcome to rummage through the parts bin as well. Better bring a truck..

Hey! there's some of the guys I met that I missed on the blog!
That was a fun day. I got some real nice shots that morning at the Warplane museum with that lineup of every imaginable TR all staged in the parking lot.
What a scene!
I've got today and tomorrow off and I plan to do exactly that Russ. I wanna fill in the blog with pics and more data. My wife is a bit more savvy than me about that stuff, and she's Gonna give me a hand.
And in the middle of all this is a new job, that I'll tell everyone about real soon.

Are you going to keep the parts response/donations/needs going here, so that we have one central spot for that stuff?

Yea, it'll be mainly through here, with the blog just being an organized space to document the progress.
Good idea Andy. thanks.

Was wondering if TR3 Randall actually left the state to drive that far

I have been known to, on occasion. Back in 2003 I flew into Dulles and rode to VTR/SP in a red TR3A. But usually I only get as far east as IN, where my folks live.

Maybe after I get a Stag reliable ... the first one still hasn't recovered from VTR 2005 in IL. I'm too old to drive a TR3 that far, it's just not fun anymore.

Ben,
I'm here down in Clarksville Tenn dropping my son off to school. If Mickey has any parts for the project, I can haul them back. Send a PM.

Thanks KSIS! I'm not sure if Mickey has anything but I really appreciate the offer. I think if I were down that way, I'd stop in and visit him just because..
I'm gonna get my list up very soon. I have a generic list on the blog already, but I'm in a flux at the moment, and money just got really tight for a few weeks, So please guys, be patient with me. I'm not begging for freebies, just trying to find really good bargains. I'll start moving on things really soon.
I'll post more details tomorrow, but I'm starting a new job soon, and that requires me to get the 33MPG BMW back on the road.(20 mile commute instead of 3 miles) SO my "free cash" is gonna spent on a new rack and pinion and some other misc. parts to get 'er up to snuff.

Ben,

Do you want the 13 blade fan? This morning I have posted my list on the Classified section here and on 6Pack before I go to ebay in a month. I need to know whether to hold one back for you.
