This was the worst part of the car: been smacked front and rear (long before we got it), and "repaired" poorly. Trunk overhung the back panel by 3/4", thing was LOADED with mud (Bondo). Replaced the trunklid with a less rusty used one. Some filler now, but it's "AllMetal"... and there was considerable use of a "PortaPower" to get it to this point.

That looks awesome. Looks like you really paid attention to the small details on that. Hope that the rest of the car came out as good.

Thank you, all. The rest is "easy" by comparison. Started at the "hardest part" first so as NOT to get discouraged. Suffered a detached retina ~just~ as I was finishing the last panel (RF lower fender). Doors fitted just right, nose, hood and valence are all straight as I could make 'em. Learned the secret of sucessfully finishing the facia in wrinkle black... All moving along nicely again now (I'm off th' med's and my "adult supervision" is ignoring me!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ). Today got some 3/16 polycarbonate sheeting to use in place of that "Micarta" pressboard used for the interior panels. A bit heavier but: not water avid, no rot, ever. Have put "NutSerts" in the doors to accomodate #6 stainless machine screws to hold them (the interior panels) in place. Will post photos if there's any interest. I intend this example to be ~easily~ serviceable in every way I can imagine "When I'm Sixty Four"!

The tips are an Ansa setup. Always liked the sound/look of 'em. The Weber makes joyous sounds too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Has anyone tried the "kit" for the early door latches whot VickieBrit an' <shudder> Moss offer? Driver's side is a ~bit~ worn at this point.

Looking good now Doc!

WOW!....Very,Very Nice!

Where'd you get the taillight lenses? I want some late model euro lenses for mine.

Kenny - those are early 2-piece Euro lens....I usually have some around here for sale...but, you'd have to change everything on yours.

erm... Any updates on the B, doc? This thread is nearly a year old... I'm kinda curious why it was revived?

I have NO idea. The carpet is yet to be installed, the right front wing needs finishing. All the "hard work" is done, now just needs seats mounted and detail work done. Battery box is renewed, all electricals work. Fuel pump is a Facet low pressure unit, mounted in the right battery box. Plumbing that up this week (hopefully).

Heh, long ago I was born in Sewickly.

I used to work there.... from the Lotus/Alfa days /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Or even the outskirts - left Wheeling here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
